Practice
research produces outputs that rarely fit the mold
of the article or the dataset: performances\, exh
ibitions\, compositions\, installations\, and the
processes and narratives that give them meaning. C
onventional institutional repositories were design
ed around text\, so much of this work stays invisi
ble. Enact is a specialist practice research repos
itory funded by the Arts and Humanities Research C
ouncil (AHRC). A cross-institutional team\, led fr
om the University of Westminster and including Que
en Mary University of London and the University of
Leeds\, is building it in the open for the intern
ational practice research community.

\n This session introduces the project and the th
inking behind it\, including the PR Voices metadat
a schema\, a project-centred data model that captu
res process and context alongside outputs\, and th
e Pathfinders programme that puts practice researc
hers and repository experts at the center of co-de
sign. We'll show how the team is building Enact on
the open-source Samvera Hyku platform\, share wha
t we've learned working across three organizations
and an international user community\, and talk ab
out where other institutions can plug in.
