As the Director of Opera tions for Community Supported Technologies\, Bridg et works on guiding the effectiveness\, impact\, a nd long-term sustainability of the programs for wh ich Lyrasis serves as the organizational home. She has worked throughout her career at the intersect ion of libraries\, academic research\, data\, and technology across the non-profit\, academic\, and commercial sectors. Bridget served as Director of Data Innovation Strategy for the State University of New York\, as a Senior Software Engineer and Te chnical Lead for the Perseus Digital Library and P erseids Project at Tufts University and has led an d contributed to several open-source projects in t he field of digital humanities. She has served in leadership roles on various global initiatives\, i ncluding the Technical Advisory Board of the Resea rch Data Alliance\, the International Scientific A dvisory Board of the Biblissima+ Project and as Vi ce-President of the Alpheios Project. Bridget rece ived her Bachelor of Arts from the State Universit y of New York at Albany where she focused on Frenc h Studies\, Chinese\, and Business Administration.

Join Bridget Almas\, Director of Operations for Community Suppo rted Technologies at Lyrasis\, as she shares the o utcomes of a 2-year effort to analyze and strength en the Lyrasis Organizational Home for Community Supported Technologies\, preparing it for grow th. Lyrasis has served as a partner in stewardship \, legal home\, and fiscal sponsor for mission-ali gned communities since 2012. The current cohort of 5 communities includes ArchivesSpace\, CollectionSpace\, DSpace\, Fedora and VIVO. Bridget will share key findings from this work\, including details of the revised cost structure that centers Lyrasis’ commitment to provide this service at-cost as a co re part of its non-profit mission.
\n \nThe goal of the session is to share insights on the co sts\, benefits\, challenges\, and importance of tr ansparency in shared stewardship of critical open infrastructure.
